This course introduces students to the principles of the health insurance field and insurance agencies, the ins and outs of how to read a SOAP note and how to file a CMS-1500 health claim form with proper formatting and ethical standards. Students will learn how to implement ICD-10-CM codes, CPT®  codes, and modifiers, while maintaining adherence to HIPAA guidelines and awareness of fraud and abuse.
